Forward-Deployed Engineer

🎯 Role

As a Forward-Deployed Engineer, you'll bridge customer delivery and product development. You will architect solutions that push the boundaries of applied AI in education for millions of learners and professionals.

This is a highly creative, strategic engineering role. You will lead solutioning with customers, partnering with executives, designers, engineers, and subject-matter experts to design new solutions that change how people learn and work. You will collaborate closely with the agent engineering team to prove out platform capabilities early, taking solutions from POC to pilot to production, and then into the core platform. You will report directly to the founder.

🛠️ Sample projects could include…

• Modernizing a decades-old curriculum using audio and multimodal image and video generation to repurpose it for the modern age.

• Building AI-driven clinical simulations and assessment flows, from prototype to production.

• Designing self-healing content pipelines that detect and remediate broken items across a partner's corpus.

• Evaluating frontier models for specific use cases, designing evaluations, and measuring token usage and costs.

• Shipping an synthetic learner system to A/B test pedagogical journeys.

• Migrating a publisher's static catalog into the Memorang Knowledge Graph to enable semantic querying and AI generation.

🤝 You might be a fit if you…

• Have 4+ years of software engineering experience focusing on modern frontend development and APIs.

• Have hands-on experience building with knowledge graphs, agent orchestration frameworks, and LLMs.

• Obsess over finding novel ways to use AI—you get genuinely excited when OpenAI or Anthropic drops a new model, enjoy vibe coding new ideas, and can tell us your favorite MCP server.

• Have a sales engineering or solutions architecture background and excel at customer-facing solutioning with executives and subject-matter experts.

• Can translate complex partner requirements into concise technical specs and working prototypes.

• Apply strong design patterns and prioritize system extensibility while navigating ambiguous problems to ship reliable code quickly.

• Excel at written communication and document technical tradeoffs clearly.

• Want to directly influence the product roadmap by turning field implementations into platform features.

💰 Compensation (California)

• Base salary range: $150,000–$250,000 USD

• Compensation is determined based on level, relevant experience, and scope of ownership.

• This role is open to candidates operating at Senior through Staff-level scope.

• Equity and benefits are offered in addition to base compensation.
