🎯 Role
As a Forward-Deployed Engineer, you're the tip of the spear for Memorang's engineering and product strategy. Operating on the frontlines means you get first crack at early-access models and frameworks—often before they're public—experimenting to find how they unlock new value for our platform and partners.
Our philosophy: problem-market fit, not just product-market fit. We're outcome-obsessed and value-driven. We don't just build features—we evolve our entire platform around emerging AI capabilities to solve the hardest, most impactful problems for customers.
🛠️ Sample projects could include…
Building a custom integration that syncs learner progress from their LMS to our platform in real-time, turning a blocker into a competitive advantage.
Simplifying client migration by leading technical discovery for a Fortune 500 publisher, mapping their legacy content structure into our knowledge graph and cutting their timeline by 50%.
Designing a voice-based assessment mode using the latest speech-to-text models, validating with 3 enterprise clients, and shipping to production in 10 days.
Improving client capability by conducting a technical workshop for an enterprise partner's team, training 15 SMEs on AI-assisted content authoring workflows.
Driving rapid delivery by translating ambiguous client requirements into a scoped technical spec and 1-page PRD, then shipping the solution end-to-end in 2 weeks.
Partnering across Platform and AI teams to diagnose and resolve a critical performance issue hours before a client's product launch.
🤝 You might be a fit if you…
Can teach a course on building and scaling APIs, relational and graph data modeling, and event-driven systems.
Have deep expertise in modern frontend development using React, performance tuning, and UI state management.
Apply design patterns and software engineering principles to real-world problems.
Have used LLMs and frameworks like LangGraph in production.
Design systems that balance velocity with extensibility.
Can translate ambiguous customer problems into scoped technical solutions without hand-holding.
Write 1-page PRDs before dev starts for cross-team work.
Maintain Linear projects with clear milestones and success metrics.
Report risk early with mitigation plans and explicit asks.
Create reusable patterns from one-off client solutions that become platform features.
Have excellent written and verbal communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Have high emotional intelligence and can navigate stakeholder dynamics.
Are comfortable managing ambiguity and changing requirements in client environments.
Are passionate about solving complex, messy real-world technical problems.
Thrive at the intersection of innovation and deployment constraints.
